Synopsis
Shanda’s River is an indie supernatural horror film paying tribute to the legacy of Italian genre cinema. The story follows Emma, a professor who travels to the small Lombard town of Voghera to investigate the legend of Shanda, a witch executed in the early 1800s whose vengeful spirit has cursed the local river. Once there, Emma becomes trapped in a time loop—waking each day to relive her own murder at the river by dark, supernatural forces. As she desperately seeks a way out, Emma uncovers hidden town secrets, chilling folklore, and the terrifying truth about Shanda’s ongoing quest for a new host.
Mixing time-loop horror with old-school Italian style, the film blends brutal effects, a haunting atmosphere, and classic giallo influences.
