In a small village, Shyam lives with his wife Sunita and son Raju. He owns a small piece of land and works hard growing crops to support his family. This year, their crop is promising, and they dream of repaying their debt to the local landlord and reclaiming the rest of their land.
But disaster strikes when unseasonal, heavy rain destroys their entire crop. Facing ruin, Shyam refuses his wife’s suggestion to pawn her jewelry and instead recalls that years ago, he had lent money to his childhood friend Kishan in the city. With hope, Shyam sets off to collect repayment.
